Letter from Jesus

I remember one time at a retreat we were supposed to write ourself a letter as if Jesus was writing it to us. Well, I was bored today, and I thought I would give it a try again.

Dear Matt,
Why do you doubt me? Why do you go on doing what you know I hate? I want you to know something right now. My grace is sufficient for you. You know what you should do. I know what you want to do in your heart, and yet I see that you do not do it. But My grace is sufficient for you.
Do not go on sinning so that you may be covered in grace, because make no mistake when I see you sin my heart breaks. I feel abandoned, and I want to hold you and tell you that I love you, but you have seperated yourself from me. Please strive for perfection, because when you turn your back on me for the sins of the world, I miss you. I, the creator of the universe, the savior of all mankind, miss you. I literally miss you.
I beg you, find your worth in me. Find your comfort in me, when things aren’t fair, when you feel alone, know that I am there. Look for what you can learn, I am always sharpening you, molding you, every fire you pass through makes you closer to the man I want you to be.
Look to me, let me love you, accept my grace, accept my love, and wallow in it. Now go and sin no more.

  • Matt,

I appreciate your thoughts. If our world truly knew this Jesus, and knew how much he loved us, then they would accept him.
