more love

I'm thinking about a little project I've got in the works today, and it gets me all worked up.

There is a mass of hurting people out there; suffering from depression, loneliness, fear, you name it. People who don't know the joy of Christ. Sometimes Christian spokespeople can come across as blow-hards, or insensitive, when they say things like God is going to pour out his wrath on a town that voted for evolution to be taught in their schools, or that Hurricane Katrina was God punishing New Orleans. When they say those things hurting people turn away. Hurting people need love. I don't know if Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment. I'll be real honest, I'm not arrogant enough to think that I've got God figured out, but here's one thing I know, God gave his one and only son so that this hurting world would not perish but have everlasting life.

Some people will say it's great that Christians are politically active, that we have spokespeople trying to preserve the morals of our society. I say if you want to preserve the morals of your society get out in it, and don't watch it from your living room. Go share God's love with somebody.
