My cool bracelet
Christine and I got Ira bracelets after following Ira's story on the brooklyn church plant blog.
We got them because our heart broke for this family that was watching their son struggle for life in the NICU at a hospital in New York City. The bracelets were being sold to help raise money for the family's medical bills etc.
I have worn it everyday since we got them. (except for Monday when I left it and my wedding ring on the desk at home) Many times I've looked at it, and remembered how blessed I am to have a healthy little boy, and I'm reminded how much hurt there is in the world. I don't understand how God works, I find myself telling him sometimes that whatever he's got going on isn't working, and he should probably rethink it. I'd be happy to be called in as a consultant, but so far He hasn't needed my advice.
The good news is that Ira is home today. He still has a long road ahead of him, but he atleast is at home with his family. So praise God for that, but I still pray for all those close to my heart who have felt the worst kind of hurt and pain that this world has to offer. My Ira bracelet brings you to mind as well, and my heart hurts for you. I hope that God surrounds you with love and comfort.
