Baby is better

Yeah! Baby Jack is feeling better. He is back to jabbering and slobbering all over everything, and being a happy baby.
I have decided to go public with something that Christine and I have not let many people in on. I think that letting people know will help me stick with it. We are committing ourselves to eating healthier and exercising. Doesn't that sound like no big deal, like you just make that decision and then you do it? It seems that way, but it's not! It is too easy to eat McDonald's and Jack in the Box, and Arby's and Chick-Fil-A, it is cheap and gooooooooood, oh so good.
But we want to stay on top of our health, it is much easier to keep weight off than to get weight off. It is easier to build the body you want, than to chip away at your body to get where you want it. Anyway, I just write this so I will quit being lazy, and just do it. It sounds so easy. Man, a grilled sourdough burger sounds really good.

Baby Jack

Jack has been sick this week, and his little cough is breaking our heart. He just looks miserable and isn't his playful self. But he did something two nights ago that totally melted me. Dana Carvey talks about never being able to withstand the "power of cuteness" his kids possess. I understand that now. Jack was in his little excer-saucer, and he started to get fussy. Christine was at rehearsal so I went to get him out. As I reached out to pick him up he looked up at me and raised his arms, like he was saying, "pick me up daddy." I loved it.

It made me think about how God must feel when his children reach for him. That's something that being a parent has done for me, let me know a little bit about the kind of love God feels for his children. It also made me think of how much more heart-melting we are in for. I can't wait until Jack gets a little bit older and he can ask questions like "Daddy, does God have feet?" (more Dana Carvey)
